Small knowledge of cosmetic packaging materials: What are injection molding and blow molding processes?
In the cosmetics industry, the molding process of plastic packaging materials is mainly divided into two categories: injection molding and blow molding. What are the differences between them? Let's learn a little about it today.
What is the injection molding process? (Figure 1)
Injection molding is to heat and melt the plastic, inject it into a closed mold, let it cool and solidify in the mold, and form a product with the same shape as the mold. It is often used to mass produce parts with complex shapes, such as PP plastic jars, PMMA plastic jars, airless pump bottles, etc.
The injection molding process has high precision and good texture, but the mold cost is usually high.

What is the blow molding process? (Figure 2)
Blow molding is usually used to make hollow plastic containers, bottles, etc. It is also to heat the plastic to a molten state, blow it into the mold cavity by air pressure, and wait until the plastic cools and solidifies, and then take it out of the mold, such as some commonly used shampoo bottles, shower gel bottles, chemical bottles, cleaning liquid bottles, washing bottles, etc.
The blow molding process has a simple production method, a high degree of automation, and a relatively low mold cost, but its dimensional accuracy is relatively low and there are certain restrictions on the shape of the product.
